Look! It's a two-post day.
I just came up with a fun idea. (Well, I think it's a fun idea, anyhow.) I have an iTunes collection of 13850 songs. I also have a large number of Pepsi caps with which I can obtain free iTunes music store downloads. (I've mastered the tip-the-bottle-before-you-buy technique.)
With Chicken Noodle Fest approaching, I thought it'd be fun to tap this collection to make a collaborative CD mix, copies of which I'd provide to anyone who wanted.
This mix can be as goofy or as rockin' or as sappy as you want. For example, as I'm browsing the iTunes music store today, I'm sorely tempted to download Olivia Newton-John's "Twist of Fate". ("Twist of Fate" was the 42nd most-popular song of 1984, but how many of you actually remember it. Besides Jeff, I mean — he had the album.)
What I need from you (especially Chicken Noodle Fest attendees) are song suggestions. To give the mix a little guidance, let's say we're mostly going to use songs from the 1970s and 1980s, and that we're going to try to avoid severely common songs unless they're more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I know Denise can suggest some good seventies songs.
If this idea doesn't generate enough interest, I'll abort it. If, on the other hand, y'all suggest too many songs, will winnow the list somehow.
What do you say? Shall we give it a go? Give me your suggestions!

To start things off, I'm going to nominate the song that inspired the idea: Olivia Newton-John's "Twist of Fate".
