What are your favorite websites? Care to recommend any I should visit?

I'm not sure what everyone else uses as a home page (or start page) on the internet these days, but I've been using my home-brewed page o' links for over five years now. Everything I need is right there in one place.

It's been a l-o-n-g time since I remodelled the page, so I edited it this morning, removing scores of dead links, adding others, and generally modifying it to be more useful.

While I'm doing this, I'd like to create a section of "probationary links", which would basically be sites that I could explore now and then to see if they sustain my interest.

This is a chance for me to explore new corners of the web, and as such, I'm asking you, my readership, for links that may be of particular interest to me.

Know of any great photography sites? Have you stumbled upon a book site that I might enjoy? Is there a weblog (or more than one) that's worth my time? What news site do you use? Where do you go to while away those last fifteen minutes on a Friday afternoon? What about a good site for stock quotes? I need one. (I use Motley Fool, but I'd prefer something plainer.) Where do you get your real-time baseball scores? Do you know of a good bird-watching site?

I'll post some sites that have recently caught my eye, too.

On this day at foldedspace.org

2004Twist of Fate   In which I ask for your assistance in creating a collaborative CD mix.

Nuggets   While I'm busy working on a long movie serials entry, I post some random thoughts about other things.

2003Serendipity   Our lower bodies basked in the glowing warmth of the hot tub while our upper bodies were treated to a brisk, cold shower.

2002Learning Photography   I am learning photography. It's a skill that I've always wanted to acquire and one that will be of great use in web design.
