community supported pie = brilliant!
You all know how I feel about pie. There isn’t a sweet that speaks to me more than the humble pie. I wish I lived in the vicinity of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill so I could have me some regularly scheduled pie! Scratch, a local bakery, has begun a community supported pie (CSP) program, modeled after the ever popular CSA–three small pies or one large pie per week. Brilliant! I ran across this on the lovely blog The Glass Doorknob. Last week Shari picked up three small pies: chocolate and sea salt; pear and date crumble; and white bean and sage. Would someone in Portland, the land of hip food, please, please start a reasonably priced CSP? If only I had a commercial kitchen, some start up cash, and maybe a bit of time!
