World's Youngest Oilers Fan

The Edmonton Oilers may have suffered a tough loss in last night's Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but they gained a new fan for life (and a possible future hall-of-famer :-).

Steph's brother Marc, and his wife Kim, are proud to announce the arrival of a baby boy; Cole Kenneth James Nofziger. Sydney seems to be pretty proud of her little brother, too...

Ready for the big game.

Cole was born at 12:34 pm on June 13th. He was 20 inches long and weighed in at 9 lbs, 10 oz. I see defenseman in this boys future... or maybe a farmer? :-) Well, he's got plenty of time to figure all that out... for now, he can just be a cute little guy. Welcome to the world, little man!

Front Page News

Noah made the front page of the local paper! Last Friday, Steph took Noah to the Canby Library for story-time, and to check out some books. As Noah was setting his books on the check-out counter, a photographer from the Canby Herald asked if she could take his picture, and use it in an article about the Summer Reading Program... why of course you can!

Noah's Quote of the Day

I think maybe I need to start doing 'Noah Quote' entries... here is the profound Noah quote for today:

"I don't have to go to school; I'm already smart."

Baby Sister

Hmmm... I wonder what I should post about on my weblog's 2nd birthday. OK, you talked me into it... here's more photos of my kids. :-)

Noah has been wanting to hold his baby sister lately. :-)

My Little Em, just being cute.

Special Request

We had a special request from Grandma Sandy (who lives in the great white north) for more pictures of Little Miss Emily -- the little girl that takes up the rest of our free time (see the previous two entries for our other time consumers ;-)

Emily with the big red bear. (May 18th)

Next to the bear on May 25th -- 3 months old :-)

And from tonight... she just didn't want to smile!

Where have we been?

OK, so I haven't kept up my weblog very well. So what have we been up to? Well, all of the nice days in the last few weeks have been spent outdoors. Some would refer to outdoor work as gardening, but I prefer to call it yardwork, because that's what it is! Anyway, here are a few photos (the first one is a special request from Grandpa Dougie)...

Noah's garden , transplanted; with new peppers, tomatoes, & strawberries added.

Our back yard (freshly weeded, mowed & edged) on Memorial Day.

We had a grub problem in the backyard, which caused Barney to dig up most of the yard. The grub problem has been taken care of, but there are still some bare spots (as seen in the photo). Now I need to find time to plant new seed in those bare patches and still weed & feed the rest of the lawn... I hope we get some decent weather again, soon!

S.C. Ruffey

Noah, who dreams about trains, wanted to have his picture taken with one of his newest train aquisitions, S.C. Ruffey (pronounced Scruffy)... I thought it turned out pretty cute. :-)

Sweet dreams, little man.
