Chili Garlic Hot Sauce

I've already established that I like to dump Tapatio all over just about everything I eat, but sometimes I just need a different kind of heat.

Putting Tapatio on oriental influenced foods just doesn't seem right, so I've discovered Huy Fong Foods Chili Garlic hot sauce. It is considerably warmer than Tapatio, yet still has a nice flavor to it -- although much different. The Chili Garlic sauce seems to compliment the oriental flavors better, and the garlic really helps to cut some of the sweetness found in some Teriyaki or Sweet & Sour dishes.

If you like it hot, you'll probably like this stuff -- it'll get your nose runnin' in a hurry. :-)

Pig Roast

On Saturday we went down to my cousin Scott's place (near Shedd) to have a pig roast and a family reunion... and we had a wonderful time.

Scott, roasting the piggy and the corn.

Enchanted Forest

The Enchanted Forest Theme Park in Salem has been open since 1971, but I had never been there... until today. Steph wanted to do something fun with the kids, so I took most of the day off and spent the day with my family.

Noah in front of the Hansel & Gretel House.

Steph and the Wicked Witch...

Noah was scared of most of the Fairy Tale attractions, especially ones with dark, winding, cavern-like pathways... but I made him walk through a few with me anyway. Steph actually talked him into going on the Ice Mountain Bobsled ride, but afterwards he stated that he didn't like it because it was too crazy and wild for him. So, we went to find a tamer ride for him, and he still insisted that I ride with him...

The train moved a whole 2 miles per hour, and the cars rocked around and played Old McDonald Had a Farm... my, what a gay old time that was...

As we exited through the Enchanted Forest gift shop, we let the kids each pick one souvenir to take home with them. Noah picked a die-cast US Postal Service delivery truck (that had absolutely nothing to do with the Enchanted Forest), and Em... well, here's what she picked out...

That tiara fits her all too well! ;-)

Friends Come to Visit

Our friends Sabino & Kim celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary yesterday. Noah had wanted Antonio & Diego to come over anyway, so they just threw Isabel in with the deal and went out for lunch.

I wasn't here, but Steph said all the kids had a great time...

Emily actually sharing a chair with Isa? I don't believe it... Em never shares!

Diego, Noah, and Antonio... trains and race cars... trains and race cars... :-)
