If a truck kicks up a rock...

If you are driving down the highway and a truck kicks up a rock and cracks your windshield, and that rock was not part of a load being hauled by that truck, then it is not the truck driver's responsibility to pay for your new windshield. It's just part of the risk you take driving on the road, and should be considered part of the cost of owning a vehicle -- pay for it yourself.

END OF STORY.

ouch! i agree with you. good luck with that one!! let me know if you end up paying for a windsheild!!

You are reminding me that a rock hit the side of my car on the freeway the other day and I forgot to check it out. Maybe I'd better go do that.

And as for the person's windshield that was cracked by our truck, doesn't most insurance pay for that? Or did he or she just think you were a sucker?

Hey, Jeff, I need to explain that last comment. I didn't mean to imply that you were a sucker; what I was saying is that you're not! I hope there was no misunderstanding here about what I meant to say.

Ah, yes, we get this sometimes here as well. We love our insurance for sure.
