CatCam, a camera hung from a cat's collar. I've been wanting to do this for years. Including: gallery one, gallery two, gallery three, gallery four. Damn straight this is going up at Animal Intelligence!
I know it may seem strange that as a parent with only cats for children I actually read a parenting blog, but Parent Hacks is a regular read for me. (Partly because Asha has been so supportive of GRS.) There's a great discussion going on there right now about the problem with star charts. I suspect many of you could get some good stuff out of this debate.

Amazing! Sir David Attenborough, naturalist and pioneer of the nature documentary, turned 80 last month. To mark the occasion, Britons were asked to choose their favorite Attenborough moment and of all the memorable scenes, his recording of the lyrebird came out on top. In this clip the bird mimics neighboring birds, several cameras, car alarms, and perhaps most impressively, loggers with chainsaws. (wmv, qt) [via mefi by way of frykitty]
Frykitty, the source of many good cat stories, points to the tale of Micro-Kitty, an abandoned newborn premature kitten adopted by a different mother. I love cats.

You know how I love tales of interspecies friendship. I love this. [Again, via frykitty, who should e-mail me this stuff.]
