    Cute, cute, cute HCM

11 to 5 huh? Gotta admit, I'm a wee bit jealous. Perhaps the boys need to hang out more so Owen can learn a few things from HalPal.

Pumpkin?!?! What a great idea! Store bought in a can or scraped out of the shell?

    In short, canned.

Earlier in September, before pumpkins were available at our farmer's market, I found a couple of dusty cans of organic pumpkin in the natural food section of our Hy-Vee. The check-out girl congratulated me on my find saying, "That's the only pumpkin in the store, and we're not going to get much more this year." Apparently, this summer's cool temperatures has made a smallish crop of pumpkin; however, the pumpkins that can be found are deep, rich hues of orange because of the growing temperatures. We have since bought four choice specimens from the farmer's market for jack o' lantern carving, but part of me is considering giving up my carved pumpkin face for a stash of diced cubes in the freezer. Planning ahead will ensure a pumpkin pie on this year's Thanksgiving table, no?

By the way, Henry's face after tasting the pumpkin seemed to say, "Well, that's different."

henry and i are in total agreement on bananas!
