Vasaloppet 2014

We participated in our first ski race in Mora yesterday thanks to our generous Auntie Phoebe and Uncle Dave! We took on the challenge of the Miniloppet, a friendly youth event, held Saturday before the big 58K race today, and had a blast sliding over the woodland, pasture, and lake trails of Mora, encouraged by townsfolk cheerfully ringing bells along the course, farmers on snowmobiles, and whoops of our family members!

Lined up at the starting line, Adelaide and I skied the 4K. Go, Skier 68!

Henry shuffled along the 1.5K course with Uncle Dave as a guide.

Here they come, rounding the last turn before the finish line! Go Skier 69!

See Adelaide at the Miniloppet Finish! (Note for future races: your finish is always stronger when your auntie is the emcee!)

Hooray for a gorgeous winter day, a beautiful course, wonderful family, Viking headwear, and hot cocoa beards!

Yay!! Looks like it was so much fun! I have now decided. This family needs skis. :)
